His First Preschool Field Trip

This is Samuel's first year of preschool and his first field trip with the class. The class went to Yellow Creek Park and they walked the trails. Samuel did not like the whole walking part at first..but he had a rough morning getting blood work done for his surgery. Once he seen all the other kids then he was fine. Well almost, he was upset that he could not ride the school bus up to the play ground. But later we made up for that by letting him get on the bus to check it out. I can't believe I am taking pictures of my baby walking with his preschool class. Of course this just sucks for me, but it is something that we all have to do and go through. It's not easy but we will all live and learn through all this. I try to think of it as him spreading his wings and exploring the world around him. Of course I will be right behind him watching everything he does and will try not to be a "nagging Nellie".

I am very proud of her

What can I say about this person. She is just simply amazing. Do you know anyone who can work full-time as a nurse at the hospital, go to RN school, do an insane amount of clinical time that is required to graduate, be on coroner duty, and she also still works as an EMT when she can, be a wife to a wonderful police officer, a mother to a great 3 yr old boy, and a wonderful daughter to one of the most beautiful people I know, and be a great friend ? To make things even more difficult than they were she lost her father unexpectedly with one month of school left. I swear I don't know how she does the things she does. She is my hero in so many ways. When life was kicking me and mine in the but the past few months I would just have to look and think about what she has been dealing with for the past year. All she has wanted to do is graduate RN school and to be able to take a break to be with her family more. I hope she gets her wish soon. She has to do a few more hours of some kind of clinical
and then she takes her boards. I know she will pass.

She and I laugh and talk about how we are "two peas from the same freaky pod ". I totally get her bizarre sense of humor and she gets mine as well. We are freaks together and proud of it. We are looking forward to a great summer with our boys and families spending time together to catch up on some lost time. If she reads this I just want her to know that I love her and she is so very smart, special and just very dear to my heart.

Summer Fun

I just love to look at this picture of Samuel and Luke. This was taken during the end of summer last year. Erica and I just sat on the swing and watched our boys well....be boys! They had such a great time that day. I actually had forgotten about these pictures and when I found them I was so excited to fix them up and give a copy to Erica. She loved them as well. I just love to look back at the simple moments of my son having fun with his friend and to know that this moment will forever be a picture that I can show him when he is all grown up and busy with his adult life.
