Zoo

We took Samuel to his first trip to the Zoo. After we rented a stroller and a wheelchair we were off. Samuel's favorite was the Jaguar. If you know anything about 3 yr. old boys then you must know about "Diego".. Ya know.. the cartoon. Well Baby Jaguar is what he likes about Diego.. So the big scary cat was the 'baby jaguar". I have not finished a pic of the Jaguar because I will need more time. That cat was not happy and was pacing the floor. I couldn't get a good shot. Samuel also loved the monkeys, crocs, and birds. We were disappointed because we didn't get to see any giraffes, but all in all we had a good time. This zoo is not very big so I think it was a great first time zoo for Samuel. I look forward to him seeing bigger zoos in the future. I will try to post more pictures when I can. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

We made it HOME !!!

We got home last night around 1:30 am. I drove straight though to get home soon. Thank goodness we made it. We are all tired and not feeling the best right now. Laz is not doing well and running a fever and Samuel has a temp also. My poor boys. They both woke up this morning complaining of being cold at the same time. I guess that was my sign to pull out the thermometer. As of late this evening they were not doing any better. Now I am trying to unwind and post a picture of our vacation. This was the only day we went to the beach. Hopefully we will have more beach days come late this summer. Well now I am going to sleep until 6 am then it's off to the DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS !!

Vacation

Florida has been very different this year. It has been cooler than normal but we went to the beach anyway. We did manage to get sun burnt on a mostly cloudy day. We all look like tomato faces. I am happy that I have been able to get some new pictures of Samuel and the beach. The beach had a ramp Laz could go down. He took it slow and made it. We enjoyed being able to just lay down and watch the waves and Samuel playing in the sand. Tomorrow we are going to the Melbourne Zoo. Thank goodness they have wheelchair rental for Laz. I hope to get some great pictures of Samuel. He has never been to the zoo before so this should be interesting. Well I hope to get more pictures of our vacation on my blog. Everyone have a great week.

Our Busy Week

We tried to spend as much time as possible outside this weekend because it was so beautiful. I wanted Samuel to play as much as possible with Daddy before he is not able for a while. Samuel won't understand, but I will have to tell him Daddy has a boo boo!! I was really needing to work this weekend to get some extra hours but I did not have a sitter so... I got a lot of things done for this next week. It will be so busy. Monday I work, Tuesday is Laz surgery, Weds. is pack and recovery day, and Thursday Samuel has a Dr. appointment for his ears, tonsils and adenoids, and hopefully Friday morning we can leave for Florida. That all depends on how everyone is feeling. So please pray for our safety this week. We will need it.

Photo Challenge of the Day

This makes my busy life so much easier. I feel like my arms are cut off without it. Anyone who is a mom understands why we have the need to own one. But to be honest sometimes I would like to throw it down the garbage disposal.

Photo Challenge of The Day

My new watch makes my life a lot more easier. The old one made my arm stink!!! Really...I would sweat under the band. This one also is water resistant and it has the date. I can't tell you how much I have to use that when I am at work. I always have 5 different people talking to me at one time or something else to get my attention off of what I'm
doing so I forget the date about 20 times a day. I have to give people their medication on the right day and time. That is a must and basic nursing. Laz gave this to me at Christmas. I think he did a great job. Not to mention I bugged him for 6 months. Ha! Ha!

Guess where I have been.

Anyone who knows me understands that Sunday morning I will always look on the Internet or in the paper to see what is on sale at Hobby Lobby. Well this week they had brads, eyelets and all kinds of embellishments for my scrap pages. I get so excited over these little "do dads". I can't wait to get home so I can put them in the container where I have about 50 million more. My philosophy is to always be prepared. You never know when you will kick yourself for not buying the one that you needed when it was on sale.

My Struggle

I got on the scale at work yesterday and just about had a heart attack. I was praying that it was wrong.. but no such luck. I was just trying to fool myself into thinking that my new smaller size pants were not getting tight. Well I went out today to get "THE FOOD". I have to get back on the wagon because I feel really bad when I put on the pounds that I worked so hard to take off. This is my struggle and I'm sure that I am not alone in this. I guess we all have our cross to carry and mine is 30 pounds to heavy.

Cupcakes

Samuel had been asking for cupcakes. I just cringe when he does that. Why??? Because I have a better chance of winning the lottery than baking a cupcake. Anyone who knows me understands how I just can't do this. Well I actually made some last night. I guess I was having a good luck day. Samuel, Katie and Laz have been eating them up. At least this time if you were to throw the cupcake it wouldn't break the window. I just told JoAnn that they only reason I'm doing this is because I don't want Samuel to get into school and hear all the other kids talk about how there moms can bake, and my poor son will tell them all he gets are burnt cookies. So just out of stubbornness I will do this and learn to do it well if it kills me and breaks my family's teeth.

Seeing the World in a whole new way

Thank goodness. I just got my new glasses today. It was in 2004 when I had my last new pair. I put them on and got into the car and started looking around and couldn't believe how clear everything was. The great part is that this pair doesn't have rims all the way around the lens. They feel so light. I was smart this time and had them made with the anti glare and scratch resistant coating. So I am very happy. I can see through my camera so much better now. For awhile I did not know if my focus was off because my lens or my eyes. Hopefully now I won't have to worry. I will be able to see road signs on our trip to Florida, and that is a good thing because Laz won't be able to drive due to knee surgery. Florida Here We Come!!!
